Foster for Bradford
Foster for Bradford is the fostering arm of Bradford Children and Families Trust, which runs children's social care on behalf of Bradford Council. If you are thinking about fostering, it can be quite confusing trying to work out what will be the best way forward for you and children you will care for. It makes sense to foster for your local authority or an organisation such as ours that is wholly owned by the council.
* We are 100% not-for-profit unlike independent (private) fostering agencies. which are mostly profit-making businesses.
* All the children our carers look after are from the Bradford district, so it keeps children local.
* Foster for Bradford foster carers benefit from local training and support
* You will experience shorter gaps between children's placements (if any gaps at all)
* You will be able to combine working and fostering - long term and part time foster carers often have jobs alongside their fostering role
* You will benefit from our large and lively local support network. We have a dedicated enrichment team providing free activities for foster families. We also have an active independent foster carers' association that provides peer support and lots of activities.
* We are not over-exposed financially, unlike the majority of fostering agencies that operate as profit-making businesses that are required to provide a return to their owners / shareholders.
* We pay our foster carers a generous payment package that includes weekly (or daily if you are part-time) allowances, along with expenses for things like mileage and equipment, additional payments for holidays and birthdays
* By fostering for Bradford, you are saving children's services and the Council money by putting children before profit.
